During the festival, a series of mask dances are performed.The festival falls usually in the month of July or August. Like other tsechus of Bhutan, Nimalung Tsechu also commemorates the heroic deeds of Guru Padmasambhava. People, dressed in their best outfit will flock into the festival ground and enjoy with family and friends. Bhutanese people believe that they will earn merit by attending the tsechu festivals.
