Indonesia
The nation of thousands of islands
Indonesia, situated off the coast of mainland Southeast Asia in the Indian and Pacific oceans, is made up of thousands of volcanic islands. The country is known for beaches, volcanoes, Komodo dragons, orangutans, elephants and tigers. Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia and is home to diverse ethnic groups speaking many different languages. Despite the varied culture, the one thing the people do have in common is their friendliness.
Indonesia has something to offer to everyone, from exploring ancient temples and hiking active volcanoes to diving in largely untouched waters or exploring wildlife in the dense jungles. You can just wander about the busy streets of Jakarta, or visit to the remote villages of Tana Toraja where you feel time has stopped. Unwind yourself in the bliss of Bali, or explore the volatile Anak Krakatau.
